Providing some personal data for verification is normal. The platform does ask both guests and hosts to go through Airbb guest verification process. That’s the standard procedure for any app
with online payments to minimize fraud, prevent illegal activities, and protect the listings from damage. Read more about why Airbnb hosts check IDs here.

Yes, it is. Depending on the local laws and regulations, the hosts are required to verify each guest’s Airbb identity. This practice is mandatory in Arizona, the US, and in many European countries
including Spain, Austria, and Italy.

Yes. Vrbo ID verification is a basic procedure. Vrbo does background checks and takes other steps to fight scams, and must verify guest identity for it. The platform, however, doesn’t share the ID
information with the guest. Instead, it only grants a “Verified” badge to the guest profile. So the property managers and hosts require the IDs to make sure the guests have no criminal record and
use the original documents for booking.

It’s easy, they work differently and they check different information.
Guest screening checks the name, email address, IP, and domain deliverability. This process allows the hosts to make sure that the guests are not listed on a watchlist and have no prior record of
bad behavior. Guest verification compares the booking data and the information on the ID card and runs a biometric check. It helps hosts make sure that guests are using their original documents and aren’t
underage.

In this case, we would need to ask for two proofs of address dated within the last 3 months (for example, a utility bill or bank statement).

The most common forms of ID that we see are passports, driving licenses, and national ID cards. However, we can accept any ID that displays all four of the following:
• Full name
• Photo
• Date of birth
• Issued by the government (gun license, military ID, etc)

While Airbnb verifies some account IDs, they don’t share details, and they don’t verify every reservation. That’s a gamble. A ‘safe’ guest today might be a liability tomorrow. Truvi gives you the
power to verify each booking, reducing the risk of damages and protecting your revenue. Don’t leave your property’s safety to chance.
